If You Know Me, Don’t Read This
If you don’t already know, I got hooked on sports thanks to my father.
He used to tell me all sorts of things about his favorite players, from different sports, from different countries. This one was very good, that one too, this one was a flop…
He didn’t have as much luck with my brother, who couldn’t care less about sports. But I always went along with him.
Basketball has given me my friends, my greatest joys, and my greatest sorrows. But the best thing it has given me (and in this, almost all athletes I know agree) are the values. I am who I am thanks to sports. From learning to win and lose. From working hard until the buzzer sounds. From never giving up. From knowing what it means to be part of a team. Humility, perseverance, and sacrifice.
I am who I am because my father talked to me about sports every day. If it hadn’t been for him, I’m sure I’d be different. I don’t know if better or worse, but different.
This is what has driven me to make books. I want all parents like you to have the opportunity to instill these values in their children.
It should be mandatory by law to practice at least two sports until the age of 12. But that’s just my opinion, and you didn’t ask for it.
Another key reason I do this is because of cell phones. I, still young, spent a few years hooked on my phone. Hours and hours wasted, thrown away, fooling around with the phone.
Do you know what the worst part of all that time is?
I don’t remember anything. Not a single fun memory from staring at my phone. In several years. Not one.
That’s why I only do my books in print. Anything that helps entertain your child away from the screen makes me feel fulfilled. And it will all have been worth it if that’s the case.
My books are originally designed for you to enjoy together. For your child to sit on your lap, so you can tell them the story of your idols when you were a kid.
This is how memories are made that you’ll cherish 30 years from now. Away from the phone screen and united by what you both love the most.
Tomorrow your child will be an adult and will be flying the nest. This is inevitable, what can I tell you. Time flies. What you need to know is that the time to enjoy together is right now.
If you want to be informed about new books before anyone else or catch some gifts, please tell me your name and an email to contact you.
I value my time and yours. I will only send you messages that are truly interested in you and at a reasonable frequency.
